Pioneer Football Ready to Open 2008 Under the Lights

The lights are ready to come up on the 2008 Sacred Heart football season come August 30th with the Pioneers hosting Assumption College, quite literally in fact. When SHU kicks-off against the Greyhounds on the newly renovated Campus Field in late August they will do so under newly installed permanent lights that will usher in a new era for Sacred Heart athletics. Football Adds Two More Recruits to the 2008 Class

The 2008 Sacred Heart football recruiting class is at 25 incoming student-atheltes with the announcemnt by head coach Paul Gorham the signing of Joe Kistler (Galloway, NJ / Absegami H.S.) and Zach Johnston (Voorhees, NJ / Paul VI H.S.) to National Letters of Intent for the upcoming season. [+]

Northeast Conference Football Gains Championship Access Through Bracket Expansion

As a result of the NCAA Board of Directors' approval of a new budget that allows for the expansion of the Division I Football Championship Subdivision post-season bracket, the Northeast Conference will gain automatic access into the Division I Football Championship beginning in 2010. NEC Football is also eligible for automatic qualification into the championship bracket during the 2008 and 2009 seasons if its champion meets specifications of the bridge program. [+]

Pioneer Football Adds Two More for 2008

Sacred Heart University head football coach Paul Gorham announced the signing of student-athletes John Watts (Jacksonville, FL) and Rock Tate (Lantana, FL) to National Letters of Intent for the upcoming 2008 season bringing the size of this year's recruiting class to 23 players. [+]
